Faces You Should Know: Cheryl Cole

Hello, all!
I've decided to start a new weekly post called 'Faces You Should Know' as an attempt to introduce you all to some talent you may not know of. Some of these may be repeats from the post that I did a week ago but I promise, I will expand further on that performer than what was in that post. Now some of these names may be people you are already familiar with but I am aiming to focus on talent that do not have the status as talent like Jennifer Aniston or George Clooney. I will be doing these posts as well as SYTYCD reviews every week. I will try my best to keep up! Thanks guys and I hope I open your eyes to some performers you may have never known about!

First up... Cheryl Cole!

Now, Cheryl does have a huge name in the UK, but unfortunately for us, she is not quite at that status here. Cheryl, or 'Chezza' as lots of Brits like to call her, got her start on the UK singing show, Popstars, which formed the wildly successful girl band Girls Aloud (see video). From the videos, you can clearly see that even before her solo career, she was a natural born performer, out shining everyone else in the band.
Here are two videos (I couldn't choose just one) from the Girls Aloud Tangled Up Tour.

In 2008, Simon Cowell invited her to join the panel of judges on the UK's biggest show, The X Factor. After only the first season of being on the show, Cheryl and her contestant won! Since then, Cheryl has won twice and became known as 'Cheryl from The X Factor' rather than 'Cheryl from Girls Aloud.' In 2009, Cheryl launched her solo career with the hit song 'Fight For This Love' followed by her debut album, which instantly went to number 1 !
Here is Cheryl performing 'Fight For This Love' on the X Factor!
She came back in 2010 with her single 'Promise This' and her album that followed, again, went straight to number 1.
Her name probably sounds familiar to a lot of you, wonder why? Cheryl was supposed to make her US debut as one of the four judges on the first season of Simon Cowell's, The X Factor, here in America. In hopes to get her career started in the states, Cheryl left the X Factor UK to focus on her career here and to judge on the show. Due to the lack of approval by US citizens and fear of her accent being too hard to understand, Simon and X Factor producers cut her from the show. But what I love about Chezza the most, is that she doesn't let anything get her down!
In May she came back with her new single 'Call My Name,' produced by Calvin Harris, followed by her album 'A Million Lights.' The album went straight to number 1 but was shortly knocked to number two because of Justin Beiber (damn you Biebs!).
MUST WATCH! Cheryl's performance of 'Call My Name' on The Voice.
I admire Cheryl for too many reasons, but I'll list a few:
1. Does Cheryl have a voice like Whitney Houston? Heck no and she is aware of that, but what I love about Cheryl is that she is one HELL of a performer! You are always guaranteed a good show when you see her live. The choreography she performs while singing is incredibly hard and yet she is still able to sing at the same time. I am just in awe of her every time she takes the stage.
2. Nothing about Cheryl is fake; what you see is what you get. She tries to keep as much as her private life as private as she can, but she still reveals enough to let the public know who she really is.
Here is part 1 of her interview with Piers Morgan. A must watch if you have time!
3. She's funny and so adorable. Cheryl doesn't try to be funny, she just is. Furthermore, there is something about Cheryl's presence that just brightens up the room making it almost impossible to hate her. Even after she has just watched the worst audition on the X Factor, she rejects the contestant professionally and without being rude.
Here are some of her best bits. 1:28-2:25 is my personal favorite :)
Here is a moment that had me in tears, mainly because of Cheryl.
This is also a hilarious interview she did along with Katy Perry on the Graham Norton Show!
4. She's humble. Of course Cheryl knows how much she is talked about it but she still remains humble. You will never hear her admit how pretty she is, how talented she is, etc. You can tell how self critical she is all the time, and even though that is kind of sad, it makes you appreciate her a little more.

If you're reading this sentence, good for you, you're almost there! Anyways, I love Cheryl. I am shocked she is not known here yet but who knows, with all these other Brits on the rise, Cheryl may be able to make her start here!
